Clearing your browser’s cache can help resolve issues when sites aren’t loading properly. It’s different from clearing your cookies or browsing history. Deleting cookies may sign you out of programs or cause you to lose game progress in online games, so we recommend starting with just clearing your cache and browsing history. If the issue persists, then you can try clearing your cookies.
Here’s how to clear the cache in some of the most popular browsers:
Google Chrome:
- Open Chrome and click the three-dot menu in the top-right corner.
- Select More Tools and then Clear Browsing Data.
- In the window that appears, choose Cached images and files.
- Click Clear Data.
Firefox:
- Open Firefox and click the three-line menu in the top-right corner.
- Select Settings and then Privacy & Security.
- Scroll down to Cookies and Site Data and click Clear Data.
- Check Cached Web Content and click Clear.
Microsoft Edge:
- Open Edge and click the three-dot menu in the top-right corner.
- Go to Settings > Privacy, search, and services.
- Under Clear browsing data, click Choose what to clear.
- Check Cached images and files and click Clear now.
Safari (on Mac):
- Open Safari and click Safari in the menu bar.
- Select Preferences, then go to the Privacy tab.
- Click Manage Website Data, then Remove All.
- Confirm by clicking Remove Now.
Tip: After clearing your cache, you may need to restart your browser or device for the changes to take effect.
